What if the world only had 100 people?

Very moving look at what the world would be like if only 100 people lived there.

Very much worth a look

how many of the 3 with the internet connection would visit this site?

  • 5 of them, because they would bring their friends round

  • truranp says:

but what if you wernt one of the 100, would this site ever have been made?>?>?>

  • Dark Fire says:

    I have several responses:

    1. That would be a boring internet – only 3 people.

    2. There are problems with turning the world into a village – if 6 of the hundred owned 59% of the wealth, wouldn’t there be a mutiny?

    3. The facts provided have been chosen very carefully to exaggerate the problem of poverty – I noticed that the fact that there are more fat people than starving people got left out.

  • truranp says:

i was like “wtf” when they sed there would be 61 asians. most of these are indeed starving, with like 11 americans, about 2/3rds of which are obese. that would mean there are about 7 fat people from america, as obesity is not a big problem in asia or africa

  • Dark Fire says:

Your view on the wealth of the world has been affected by the persuasive powers of pictures of starving children – there ARE moe fat people than starving people in the world (ask the statisticians). Adequate food does not rely on a good education or wealth – most people in Asia are farmers who can provide enough food for themselves easily.

i wonder how long it would take for the aids to spread from that one person, thus wiping out the world

  • Dark Fire says:

Longer than you would expect, if they were one of the people with the internet.

  • truranp says:

imagine that person going on those dating sites, then the other people finding out they have aids. what chance do u think s/he would have of scoring? dont forget some people could be desperate for some pun-tai

  • Dark Fire says:

I haven’t any idea what his or her chances would be. Somebody should start a reality TV show placing 100 people in a village with only 12 computers (3 connected to the internet), where 59% of the weight of the population lies with the 6 heaviest people, 59% of the wealth lies with the 6 wealthiest people, etc…

I think the outcome would be a lot more interesting, informative and educational than that other reality TV rubbish.

are you refering to basically every channel four show?

btw, did u know that when prince charles met a guy that had a show on chnnl 4 he asked the man what he did for a living. the man said that he hosted a show on 4. charles responded, possibly with intention, “oh, theres nothing but filth on channel 4″

  • Dark Fire says:

Yes, I am referring to basically every Channel 4 show, and I agree with the statement “Oh, theres nothing but filth on Channel 4.” Channel 4 used to be good, but now I think ‘five’ is better than it, because ‘five’ has lots of interesting documentaries and House.

By the way, did you know that Ireland has a channel called ‘Channel 6‘?

    to be honest – no
