From the ever popular “Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei”

Me again. When I was in my “serious” anime streak lately, I decided that, with the help of MAL’s User Recommendations, that Ga-Rei would be a decent anime for me to step up to. The plot of the anime is that there are these supernatural beings that are killing people, divided into categories based on their power. A-C is seen in Episode 1. The main plot of the anime revolves around a teenage boy who can see these beings, however he is not seen in this first episode.

The first episode starts off in a rather pathetic way. Some big nasty has gone down and the Government adopt a very elitist “Back off, know-nothing fire fighters. We will rid these beasts” attitude in their handling of the situation, with the oh-so-loved cliché “We’re in charge now.” They flip down these bits of orange glass in front of one of their eyes, and a thousand of these monsters kinda appear. You think “this is kinda cool”… then they shoot at them with regular machine guns and these things just rip apart… But then they come back and kick ASS and finally some good shit happens. These two Naruto-wannabes in Orange jumpsuits come along and start raping the shit out of these things, and you get the impression there’s hella back story. But basically there’s a whole team of them that go around fighting these… things.

THINGS!

When you watch the first episode, you get the impression it’s going to suck – and for the majority of the episode, you’re right – however in the space of about 10 minutes, it goes from terrible to amazing. The beloved transition I have seen many a time, my friends. The moving of the mouse from the stop button to clicking the OK button, selecting the second episode’s save destination. The graphics are good, the fight scenes get good after Team Naruto get involved, and I recommend it. That’s all from me this week, I’ll start reviewing funny anime soon, I promise you! ぴかーぴか~!

FullMetal Alchemist Season 2 – April 2009

I mean, what can I say about this, apart from; “I hope they don’t screw it up.”

I really enjoyed the first season, hope the second is good (or even better :D )  I believe it is based on the manga more so than the first season.

Hayate No Gotoku 2 (Hayate the Combat Butler 2) – Spring 2009 title

Again I really hope they don’t mess this up. Perhaps some more content from the manga and maybe a bit more story. Mind you the first season kept to the original manga pretty well anyway. Just hope its full of hilarity like the first season. As some people are aware, sequels don’t always live up to the originals. We shall wait and see.

Haruhi-chan & Churuya-san (?)No idea if this is the real poster

Based off the HUGELY POPULAR anime “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya” this series is supposed to be a parody of some doujinshi. I really don’t know how this series will turn out, I’m hoping its something to quell the fans of the original series complaining about a severe lack of Season 2.

Watch out for some more anime posts, as I’m under no doubt that I will watch some more

GWLTT

Rarely does a film capture my attention so much. Full of jokes, laugh out loud situations and serious parts, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, really shines as one of the best films that I have seen.

Have an IMDB quote:

A teenage girl finds that she has the ability to leap through time. With her newfound power, she tries to use it to her advantage, but soon finds that tampering with time can lead to some rather discomforting results. – IMDB

Do watch this movie if you can, it truly is a good film.
