Ah…Validation…I think that the validation sites are a load of rubbish. Just as people can understand incorrect uses of english, computers can easily cope with code that does not follow the rules 100% of the time. My policy is that if code works in Firefox and Internet Explorer, it doesn’t need changing – even if it is officially ‘invalid’. In fact, some code I used in my old website was invalid but had essential effects on the pages in Internet Explorer and Firefox. In conclusion, do not treat what validation sites tell you as absolutely correct – they are more like a guide.
