First post for a while eh? Well not much has changed in Southanuk, its still 10 and as usual, I’ve forgotten to post for ages.
These girls look so happy, little do the realise, they're trapped inside a TV
Recently I have acquired a very nice little TV/Monitor for my room. The monitor in question is a 23 inch Samsung
2333HD. A very nice sized TV with a modest array of inputs (Its technically a monitor so I shouldn’t moan.) My one very big quibble is the sound with the inbuilt speakers. Now I wasn’t expecting much in the way of sound but there is absolutely no bass
whatsoever on these speakers. Luckily I had some old PC speakers laying about so I just plugged those in instead, hey presto, bass.
I must say having the option for 1080p is very handy with me having a PS3 and all, however, the majority of PS3 games are only 720p max. So until Sony make it mandatory for all games to be 1080p max I’ll have to enjoy 720p games. Saying that, some games are 1080p like LocoRoco Cocoreccho.
All in all its a brilliant little TV/Monitor for the price ( £214.)
Southanuk today turns the grand age of 10 !
Stay tuned for more things later in the day.
Notice it or not, Southanuk has had some tweaks applied to it.
Most notable is in the comments section where the comment form has been completely restyled and properly supports Facebook Connect in Internet Explorer 8.
Little tweaks to the site may appear every now and again, if you like, do tell, if you don’t… do tell!
Just released is the all new, all sexy, Firefox 3.5.
New features include:
Open Video and Audio.
Firefox 3.5 delivers the first native integration of audio and video directly into the browser. Now everyone can easily watch open format Ogg Theora videos.
Firefox 3.5 includes features designed to protect your privacy online and provide greater control over your personal data.
Location Aware Browsing.
Location Aware Browsing saves you time by allowing websites to ask you where you are located.
So far in my tests its a huge improvement on the last iteration (3.0.11) much speedier and handles the web better. I am really impressed with the native video player based on the HTML 5 specifications.
What a lovely day in London we are having, 31-32 °C, nice blue sunny sky.
However, lets take a moment to remember the victims in this heat… our laptops:
85 °C is no good, I’m gonna put some fans round it or something :/
And if you were wondering, its Firefox that is using 100%.
Seems I’m getting into quite the habit of not posting anything.
So what has changed from my last post?
- Managed to get onto my course next year, which is Medical Genetics
- Doing lots of extra shifts at work
- Had my mates over MANY times 😀
- Been very warm
Apart from that not much else.
Now the podcast, which I have promised since… February…. last year. Since it is Southanuk’s birthday on 24th July a special podcast to celebrate this fact will be churned out. Lets hope its a nice drunk podcast 😀
No not the song, me silly.
Seems to be a lack of any content on the Blog these days. This is due to one terrible thing
Expect some movement in the next few weeks as I will have a bit more time in-between exams, 2 weeks to be exact 😀
Merry Easter to you all, I do hope you are enjoying some tasty chocolate Easter eggs 🙂
Here is a picture of some bunnies in some coloured eggs…
…that’s Easter like, no?
Isnt this nice weather we’ve been having. Better than being 2 Degrees constantly. Anywho, this signifys the change of seasons from the cold and harsh winter to the warm and mild spring. It also means that exams are coming soon, which no one likes.
Maybe I’ll even post a podcast or two soon …
Assuming that I can afford the bloody thing, my next phone will hopefully be the very lovely Nokia N97.
It has a tonne of new features so numerous that I cant be bothered to type them so I’ll just copy from the Wiki:
Screen: 640×360 px (16:9 aspect ratio), 3.5 in, sliding tilt TFT LCD display, up to 16.7 m colours
Camera: 5.0 megapixels f/2.8 Carl Zeiss Tessar lens
Memory: 32GB on-board
Memory card: microSDHC 16GB max (32GB Max MicroSDHC available in 2009)
Quite nice specs, No?
According to Google Product search:
So that would take at least 4 years to save for it at the moment, with no extra shifts or bonuses…
I ASSUME the price will come down to a more reasonable amount.
Anywho, Joe out.
