I spent ages following instructions on the BBC website to no avail. Following your intructions above however done the trick. I uninstalled Adobe Air and BBC iplayer first. After following your instructions I went into the BBC website, which promted me to update from "iplayer download manager" to "iplayer desktop". After that it worked fine. Many thanks.
